MEETINGs & events

As a Young Adults Community, our goal is to develop each other’s faith and foster community and fellowship by providing opportunities for us join together to develop each of the following aspects in our lives: Faith, Fellowship, and Service.

We tend to meet 2 or 3 times a week, with each meeting intended to focus on one of the above aspects: Faith, Fellowship, and Service.

So whether you want to join us in serving our neighbor on one of our “Service Saturdays,” delve in to a faith based discussion, or maybe first get your feet wet by coming out to a social event, we genuinely want to see you there!

Saturday April 2oth: Mater Fillus Service

Hey there friends!

Our April Service Saturday will be Saturday April 20th! We will be helping a program called Mater Filius Queen City. Mater Filius is a non-profit organization that provides housing and food for pregnant women experiencing homelessness. The goal of their program is to create a safe place of respite and healing for expectant mothers and support them in building a life they deserve for themselves and their children.

We helped them out last November, and our group loved it, so we are helping them again with a new project!

Check out their website if you want to learn more…Maternity Home - Cincinnati, Ohio | Mater Filius (mfqc.org)

Soooo, on April 20th, we will be helping them get the outside landscape ready & beautiful for some warmer weather! Tasks include planting, gardening, and some other yard work for spring clean-up. They will also need some guys to help install window air conditioners for the house too. The event will start at 10 am, and go until 12 pm. If you can’t stay the whole time, that is okay- come for as long as you can!

Please sign up on the google doc by Thursday April 18th! As always, reach out to Jackie if you have questions

We’re excited to continue working with this amazing program so thank you for serving with us!

Sunday April 21st: Listening session hosted by Fr. paul

Well, it has been some time since we last got together to talk about what we are searching for in our young adult group. Community for service? Social connection? Understanding of our faith? A good group to hang out with? Deepening of personal belief?

We each are longing for something that a faith community is meant to fill!

So, the St. Xavier Young Adult Group will have a “Listening Session” hosted by Fr. Paul on April 21 after the 5pm mass.

Come and tell us what you think!

Which St.XYA activities and meetings have you enjoyed? What have you found more or less helpful? What are you hoping for when you come to meetings? Are there topics you would like to explore further?

Whether you’ve only been to one meeting or you’ve been an active member for years, we would love to hear from you. Please come and join the discussion after 5pm mass on Sunday, April 21 in the Parish Center.

Hope to see you there!
